10 A) Recommendations
  • Provide more information on standings after each round (2x).
  • Announce rules before the tournament (move is done when the piece has been released, number of rounds in the Blitz, etc.) (2x).
  • Have meal options for all days.
  • The program should not extend beyond 20:00.
  • Consider to play in the big hall to increase Shogi exposure.
  • Avoid same-country pairings if possible.
  • Start later than 8:30 on Sunday to allow Rosebery residents to have breakfast.
  • Assign more GP points to the WSC part of the MSO.
  • Communication between MSO, hotels/hostels and players can be improved.
  • Use a title match over more games to determine the ESC (but it takes a lot of time).
  • Great learning experience, but more handicap play would be nice.
  • Consider offering class prizes (e.g., each dan-grade, 1-kyu, 3-kyu and below)
  • Try to arrange an array of accommodations closeby.
  • Establish a place where newcomers can learn and try to play Shogi.
  • Just keep things the way they are.
