Use of the keyboard

The following is a list of keys that can be used from anywhere within Chu Shogi, providing that the main window (but not the help window) has the keyboard focus:

CTRL-Q

Quit - terminate the program immediately

CTRL-N

New Game - terminate the current game in progress, and prepare to start a new game

CTRL-L

Load a saved game - follow this with CTRL-B to start the game.

CTRL-S

Save the game, for loading later.

CTRL-C

Clear the board - you will be asked to confirm your intention.

CTRL-R

Rotate the board.

[left arrow]

Take back the last two moves.

[right arrow]

Move forward one move.

F1

Help - open a help window. Help windows must be closed by using the close operation on your window manager (this normally involves a small icon at the top right of the window, but some window managers may allow a key combination, such as ALT-F4, to perform the same function).

Load Augmented Forsyth

F3

Save as Augmented Forsyth

CTRL-B

Begin Game - the use of this key is disabled the moment you begin the game. You must first press CTRL-N to start a new game, before you can use it again.

Toggle whether the computer plays the Black pieces
