Hello Bonanza fans,

After I post the following on Aug. 05,
http://www.shogi.net/shogi-l/Archive/2005/Naug05-00.txt
there are several updates.

On Aug.23, version 1.2 was released.
You can download it by doing the following.

 Go to the page at
 http://www.geocities.jp/bonanza_shogi/

Click the link with (2.5MByte) under "Aug 23 2005, Bonanza v1.2"
 of the page.=20

The major changes to users is that you can change the parameters
of time control, memory consumption etc even when it is your=20
turn to make a move

On Sep. 22, Miyamoto Joseki for Bonanza version 1.2 was released.
You can download it by doing the following.

 Go to the page at
 http://www.geocities.jp/bonanza_shogi/

Click the link with (4.5MByte) under "Sep 22 2005, xxxxxxx2005=1B$B!!=1B(B=

Bonanza v1.2"

Miyamoto Joseki is a Joseki file which contains approx. twenty=20
thousand professional gamerecords. It is created by Miyamoto-san.
(His first name is unknown.)

You need to copy the file named "book.bin" in the directory named
"book_niya2005[1] to the directory of Bonanza 1.2_csawin[1], if you
would like Bonanza 1.2 to use Miyamoto Joseki. Before copying, making
a backup file of "book.bin" in the directory of Bonanza 1.2_csawin[1]=20
is recommended.

As to playing a handicap game using Bonanza version 1.2, please
refer to my posting of Aug. 05. the same procedure will be necessary
as Bonanza version 1.1. The pointer URL is on the top of this posting.

According to the latest Kindai Shogi(a monthly shogi magazine in Japanese),=

the creater, Kunihiko Hoki, is specializing in theoretical physics in=20
University of Toronto in Canada. He has a plan for someone to take part
in Computer shogi championship next year on behalf of him.

Best regards
Manabu Terao
