From: Adam Skalny shogi sk> Date: 16 mar 2007 Subject: Re: Shogi22680 Hallo, yesterday we tried shogi22k irl. It's bit unbalanced, but yet *VERY* enjoyable game to play. Even setting up pieces on board is fun. As for us we proceed this way: First both players set up standard shogi position. Both players than remove all pieces, but pawns. Put them to some sort of sack or any other non-translucent container. Removed pieces are randomly taken from container and redeployed using ito or ohashii ryuu. Imho this game fall into same category as micro or yari shogi: *definitely* worth trying, nice to relax, great fun. It's very hard to build castles or apply any complex joseki, but one can still play by proverbs -- but I am only low kyu player, maybe stronger players have different opinion. Try it!
