From: manabu.terao mx3 ttcn ne jp Date: 26 jun 2007 Subject: A picture of Furigoma Scene(Was: E: P. 143 of "Shogi for Beginners") Furigoma is to be conducted after pieces are set up by both players in a game when conducted. Here is a picture example. The link below is one of the entries of official bolog for 19th Ryuo-match about the 7th game of December 20, 2006 http://ryuoh.weblogs.jp/blog/2006/12/post_fd76.html Please look at the second picture on the page. It's the shot of just after the Furigoma conductor threw the 5 pawns of Ryuoh Watanabe(Left)on a white cloth. It may be slightly difficult to see, but I think you can find the pieces have been already set up on the board. Manabu Terao P.S. The second and third pictures of this page is the evidence of Sente(Ryuo Watanabe) used King without a dot in the seventh game since he was the title holder and thus considered higher ranked than the challenger Sato. http://ryuoh.weblogs.jp/blog/2006/12/post_e82f.html My headache is the replayable board on Internet. The following link is for the 7th game again. It shows Sente's King is with a dot and Gote's King is without dot. It seems a specification of Kifu for Java which is used in many shogi net-broadcasting sites as the de fact standard in Japan. http://live.shogi.or.jp/ryuoh/kifu19/061221_watanabe-sato.html I asked JSA before that this should be corrected. They answered they would contact the developer for correction. But It's not fixed yet. bogin yahoo co jp> wrote: > > I think in most professional games that the furigoma occurs before the > pieces are set up.
