Subject: Kokeshi dolls


Hello all,
Does anyone know about Shogi kokeshi dolls, or can they refer me to a website that explains their manufacture and place in Japanese culture? I Googled the term but was unable to discover much more than that kokeshi were from Northern Japan and plentifully for sale.
