About ten years=20 ago I was involved in promoting a class to teach shogi in English at=20 the Shogi Renmei. I submitted an article on the class to the Japan=20 Times. To my surprise, they printed it without any changes and even=20 paid me for it. As a result, around 40 people turned up to the first=20 lesson, though this had dwindled to about half a dozen by the end! For example, I'm pretty sure the Japan Times would be interested in an=20 article about Habu and his "crossover" to chess.
