As for languages- I have learned French, German,=20 Latin, Greek, Russian, Esperanto,and American Sign Language. My only=20 point about the nature of written Japanese is that it is considerably=20 more difficult to learn 3 separate character sets- as opposed to the=20 Greek or Cyrillic alphabets for example.
