Subject: Compare Computer Shogi to Computer Chess


I am curious how computer shogi compares to computer chess. Tell me if 
there is a better forum for this question. Are there many enthusiasts 
running tournaments and producing rating lists? Are there forums for 
computer programmers and computer players to discuss computer shogi? Is 
there a Winboard / UCI type protocol for Shogi that is supported by any 
GUIs? Is any of this in English?
