Jonas Ahlqvist was the first profile of this tournament. He won=20 surprisingly but convincingly against Carl Johan Nilsson in the second=20 round. Jonas was one of the biggest sensations already in the ESC/WOSC=20 2003 at Ockero, Sweden. He will become a dan player the day he decides=20 to play in tournaments outside Sweden. Terje Christoffersen was the=20 second profile after winning the "final" game in round four against=20 Jonas. The third profile of the tournament was Niklas Alexandersson,=20 who struggled to win the game against Jonas in the fifth round, and=20 after an incredible luck won the final round against Terje, thereby=20 securing the second prize. Niklas was one of the biggest sensations=20 already in the ESC/WOSC 2003 at Ockero, Sweden. He will become a dan=20 player the day he decides to play in tournaments outside Sweden. The=20 fourth profile was Carl Johan Nilsson who, once again, came back after=20 an early loss and finally won this tournament after victories against=20 his two dan colleagues from Norway. He was simply the best player this=20 weekend.=20 Some funny details: Richard Bjerke and Jonas had the same points, the same SOS, the same=20 SDOS, and the same progressive points after the sixth round. Thus, a=20 final 8 minutes per player blitz game was played. Richard won and thus=20 secured the third prize of the tournament. Jonas was the best player=20 with 1-kyu to 5-kyu, Mikael Hansson was the best player with 6-kyu to=20 10-kyu, and Anders Dessmark was the best player with 11-kyu and lower.=20 In the fourth round, the first ever rated shogi game between two=20 Swedish ladies was played. Anna-Karin played well in the opening, but=20 finally Ther=E9se, who has played for a while now, could win this=20 historic game. Now, the Swedish shogi players are looking forward to the Swedish=20 Shogi Championship tournament, that will be played in Goteborg, April=20 14 to 15.=20 Best regards,=20 Martin Danerud,=20 Tournament director of Goteborg Open 2006 and President of the Swedish=20 Shogi Federation --^---------------------------------------------------------------- This email was sent to: = shogi-l shogi net EASY UNSUBSCRIBE click here: http://topica.com/u/?a2i6Ys.= aBsjvI.= c2hvZ2kt Or send an email to: shogi-unsubscribe topica com For Topica's complete suite of email marketing solutions visit: http://www.topica.com/?p=3DTEXFOOTER --^----------------------------------------------------------------
