Although Shogi Day is November 17, the event was= =20 held on a near weekend since I think it could expect more audience. The=20 venue was a multipurpose hall. The program was briefly as follows; Nov. 12 10:00 - 13:50 5 knockdown tournaments separated by age/strength. for 4 dan or stronger players. for less than 4 dan players for junior high/high school student players for elementary school pupil players for novice children The number of participant of each was 32. Nov. 12 14:30 - 16:00 Educational play by professional players(All the pro were heard to be there!!). 2 Relay shogi matches for celebrating anniversary year. Nov. 12 18:30 - 20:30 Party Nov. 13 9:00 - 11:00 Free match Nov. 13 13:00 - 16:00 Main Event 1, Relay shogi, with Moriuchi, Nakai, Sato and Chiba pretending to be a local historical person. Representative of children were to participated in this match as well. 2, Talk Show by Yonenaga, Habu and Tanigawa 3, Exhibition match between Habu and Watanabe with Next Move Meijinsen for audiences.
