Mr Sera did not know exactly, how strong Mr.=20 Masumoto is (he just said he is about 2 or 3 kyu). So i assigned him a=20 rating of 1700 just for doing the pairings. As his real tournament performance was then lower than this 1700 points, he= =20 got a performance rating (1122). This performance rating is also what count= s=20 for you, if you played against him. However, I have a question: Mr. Masumoto is listed in all the lists at 1700 points, but not in the rating list, where he is at 1122. Is this his performance rating? And am I right to suppose that it is this latter rating that was used to calculate the rating changes of his opponents? Of course by now you might have figured out where I'm coming from; I played a really nice game against him which I wouldn't be ashamed to take 20 points for :). However, there is a bit of altruism in it as well: Should he have to start his next tournament with 1122 points, he shall leave behind quite a few disgruntled opponents, as he is beyond any reasonable doubt a high level kyu player, just as most of the lists say.
