Yes. I've done shogi (and other things) at anime events, science week events and similar. I find that having multiple things on my table attracts more interest than having just one sort of thing. People who come to look at one thing sometimes stay to look at the others. You could, for instance, take "Rush Hour" or "Lunar Lockout" along on the grounds that they were invented by a Japanese puzzle designer, and have shogi there as well. You might want to take Go because of the Hikaru no Go connection.
