Dear shogi fans,

I ve got chance to participate with shogi on small anime fair (AnimeCon)
held here at Bratislava in aprox. two months.
Imo, I (and shogi:-) will be given some dusty corner on the outskirts of
fair, but it's much better than nothing:-D Organizators expect at least 500=

visitors ... not much, but if it happend (by some magic or chloroform;-)
they might be couple of new shogi players here... finaly. Or at least peopl=
e
who know what's meaning of word "shogi".

Do You have any experience with shogi presentation on such events, please?
Or any other events for young people (from 10 to 25 yo but mostly 16+). Wha=

do You think how can i attract anime funs? And where should i start after i=

got their attention? Thing or things i fear most are eleven glyphs (10kanji=

and TO:-) on the pieces -- in most cases kanji is considered hard and
unlearneable. That might freak-em-out before they even hear something from
me.

At the present time i think that presentation will be like this:

a) tell'em "what's shogi" - some brief explanation of shogi hiostory,
relation with "western" chess and probably give out few words on theme "how=

shogi and manga/anime" -- if i found anything'cause i'm definity not an
animeotaku.

b) explain'em rules of shogi somehow - aldo i don't how:-( in the principle=

shogi rules are easy, but i m having hard time each and every moment when
explainting it... to start is very hard.

c) print out fome flayers with SIMPLE shogi rules - i got shogi rules on tw=
o
A4 pages - most of it are diagrams with piece moves. goal is to minimize it=

to singe A4 page.

d) prepare some simple (1 and 3 move) tsumeshogi (is it called tsume shogi
when it have only one move?).

e) clear dust from the board and play shogi with anybody who will be
interested.

f) spend all other time publicly playing shogi with friend -- this might ge=
t
someones attention;-)

I will appriciate any comments, please.
