She was an amateur 4 Dan at age 12 and had ideas of becoming a pro, b= ut decided against it and has not played very much since then. Runner-up wa= s Mr. Higashionna. Alan Baker won the "B" group (and a ticket to Japan, as = did Ms. Sato). Washington D.C. won the team competition by a single point o= ver Chicago.
