Well, I can't help you with information, but there is a huge bunch of different shogi koma in in the web page of my favorite shop, http://www.go-shogi.com/rando-top.htm. As for your pieces, look at http://www.rakuten.co.jp/ryusyo/464063/464073/ in the upper left corner. I think you can see from these pieces, how the 'T=^' develops from the 'fuhyo' and the 'I' from the 'to'. Compare with the set in the upper middle, where the caligraphy is more normal, but the koma are arranged in the same way as in the upper left. Also, you can have a look at this page http://andreas-mang.de/shogi/shogikoma.html (in German), where the pictures of the koma are from a set similar to yours.
