An announcement should appear here once details are finalized. > > Also, what is the status of the USSF? A few years ago I sent my check in and it was > never cashed. Ths USSF is still "in business", but since only one issue of the planned magazine ever appeared, we did not collect dues and have been operating on a volunteer basis. Our activities include rating of club and tournament games (joint with FESA, see the FESA website for the ratings), publicizing events (primarily by announcements and reports here), sales of equipment, and sanctioning of tournaments. I am glad to report that this year's US Championship will be sanctioned and rated by USSF, unlike the last one which was held at a time limit too fast for eligibility. Currently our policy is that if you belong to a member club, you are automatically a USSF member. I wouldn't mind helping do stuff in the San > Francisco Bay Area, but I'm not sure who to contact.
