Buying it will not be so easy either. It=20 must be out of print now, so the only way to get hold of a copy would=20 be from a second-hand bookstore. I have never seen Shogi Senpo=20 Daijiten, but I'm sure it isn't anything like Encyclopedia of Chess=20 Openings. There doesn't seem to be any concept in the shogi world of a=20 detailed and exhaustive book on the latest opening theory for amateurs=20 or shogi fans. There is still a big gap between the professional and=20 amateur shogi worlds, and the professional world (which produces most=20 of the shogi books) does not seem to think that amateurs require such a=20 great level of detail. Nearly all the shogi opening books I have seen=20 are quite superficial compared to their chess equivalents. Anyway, you=20 have aroused my curiosity, so I will go to my local second-hand shogi=20 bookstore and see what I can find.
