I agree about the Habu's brain series. The series were published from 1992 to 1994. I would recommend to buy these series rather than buying Shogi Senpo Dai Jiten if the purpose of purchase is to become stronger by getting opening knowledge. After publication of Habu no Zuno Vol.1-10, four major invention in the opening appeared, Fujii System, Millenium castle, Gokigen Nakabisha and Yokofutori R8e. They are covered in Fukaura's books Kore ga Saizensenda(This is the Front Line)in 1999 and Saizensen Monogatari(Front Line Story)in 2003.
