From: fabien.osmont teambridge ch Date: 22 sep 2003 Subject: Colmar Tournament ed. 2003 : the results Dear all, This year, our tournament has received 16 players. Most of them were german. The other countries seem to not like Colmar as a tournament place since a few years ;-) Anyway, the most important was the tournament atmosphere was really friendly and we hope that every participant was happy to play some good games at this place. This year, we decided to create a special price for the best beginner. 4 young players came for that. The youngest was 11 years old and has learnt Shogi about one month ago! Althought he was not very lucky during his game, we have noticed that Alexander Erben (that's him) is learning very quickly and we think he will soon beat some of us! The winner of this beginners tournament is Hugues Dubedout. As his general place in the tournament is the 9th, we think he'll be quickly well rated! So good luck and welcome to these beginners! we hope meeting them in other tournaments. The winner of the 9th Colmar tournament was Karl Wartlick. I won't say it was easy for him as some people gave him some difficulties, but at least was it logical to find him at the first place, as he was the only dan player who accepted to travel to our city. We'd also like to notice a good performance of a Parisian player, Jean-François Pinto who has reached the third place of the tournament. Particulary, we noticed a very interesting game against Karl. Jean-François has lost it but he was really near the victory. Well done Jean-François!!! Now, the results : [International Tournament of Alsace, COLMAR] [2003-09-20] 1.
