Subject: The best game and the best player of the ISC match

Dear Shogi friends,

ISC monthly match was played on the 16 th of August in Shogi Club 24 (Osaka
Dojo). We all enjoyed the match with many interesting and exciting games.

(1) The best game of the month:

cangaru VS. kabayan

I think this game can be "illustrative game" for some players" as this
development is very popular. cangaru (Germany) played "kyu-sen"(quick
attack) against 4th file rook and won the game.

Both players were superb!


(2) The best player of the month:

marcchan (Germany)

He played "yokofudori 45 kaku"(Side Pawn) with me and smashed the one of my
favorite variations of Yokofudori. (I also like "33kei" as a White and play
it more often lately :) ) Coincidentally, we'd followed one of the exact
"joseki lines" in this game. (I looked at the book and new it afterwards) He
played as 2-3 dan players used to do and won against me with proper
judgement and accurate skill of the endgame.

Of course there were some other nice games  which were likely to be "the
best"...  to decide the best player or the best game is never easy..
