From: kaissa lycos com Date: 16 oct 2003 Subject: European shogi tradition/rules I will be organizing a shogi tournament during the Mind Sports Festival Oulu 2003, October 31st. http://www.ouka.fi/international-oulu/english/mindsport.htm I would like to follow the European shogi tradition/rules, if there is one, in the following points: - illegal moves - leaving king in check - repeating positions Time control will be 15 minutes for start plus 15 seconds increment after each move. The longest games have lasted just over one hour so far. It will probably not be possible to replay "drawn" games in full length. I know this has been discussed before, but maybe there has been development since the last time.
