From: Jochum Drechsler web de> Date: 17 nov 2003 Subject: 13th German Open Shogi Championship in Hannover 2003 Dear Shogi-friends, here is a short report of the 13th German Open Shogi Championship, that took place in Hannover last weekend. The tournament was very well attended with 35 participants. There was just enough space for all the players in the Industriepfarramt, was venue for the German Open in the last years. But it was difficult to provide the room with fresh air all the time. We had participants from eight different countries ranging from beginner to former amateur meijin and from 11 years to 70 years of age. The pairing was done with Asle Olufsens program and pairing system. Below´are the results. PP ist the performance rating for the tournament that the pairing and the ranking is based on. The first number in the brackets is the actual Elo-number. The second number is only there to confuse you.
