They will play off to decide the Meijin challenger. Going into the final round today, Sato held the lead with 6 wins and 2 losses, but he lost to Goda while Habu beat Aono and Fujii won against Tanigawa. The two players relegated to the B1 Group were Morishita (2 wins, 7 losses) and Goda (4 wins, 5 losses.) Goda was very unfortunate to be relegated even though he won 4 games. Although four other players (Aono, Miura, Maruyama and Shima) also finished with 4 wins, Goda was the lowest in the order (juni).
