From: Eric Cheymol FREE FR> Date: 14 jul 2003 Subject: GSDB games in psn format Hello, First good news for shogi today : All games available in Matt Casters' Java Shogi Database (http://www.ibridge.be/shogi/) are available in a single archive file. The archive file is given in the zip format and in the tar.gz format. http://echeymol.free.fr/matt/gsdb.20030714.psn.zip http://echeymol.free.fr/matt/gsdb.20030714.psn.tar.gz Those archives contain exactly the same files : Amateur.psn 1004 games, all games between amateurs or amateur against pro Jozeki.psn 85 games, jozeki (30 & 40 first moves from Terao Manabu and The Nakabisha Series) Matt.psn 2 games, two Shikenbisha book test from Matt Pros.psn 1130 games, all games between pros Tsume.psn some tsume in gsdb specific format In all, 2221 games and several tsume. The games are in a psn format generated by Matt. Matt Casters and Thomas Majewski have done a really big job by entering most of those games in the past years. Many games are commented : many are commented in German by Thomas for the German Shogi Magazine, other are commented by Reijer for his "The Week in Shukan Shogi" weekly report. From the games available today in gsdb server, those games slightly differ : I did a cleaning job about the names, firsnames, dates ... But the moves remain the same. Gsdb games should be updated soon. So you can replay more than 2000 games. Just in time for the next EC in Sweden. I should take some time for studying them myself too :-)) Best Shogi wishes, Eric ---------------- Get the European shogi archives at http://echeymol.free.fr/
