From: Jouni Tolonen LYCOS COM> Date: 14 jul 2003 Subject: Re: [ISC: Tips by Yamato Takahashi No.17] I tried the three different versions on two machines: -Windows 98 SE, IE 5.00 -Windows 2000, IE 6.00 with Japanese language support working On either environment the pages look and work in the same way. Katsuda shogi board is the only one where the button graphics are correctly displayed. The two other ones, ES Shogi board and Kifu for Java don't show any of the Japanese texts correctly. The button texts, moves in the movelist and the board coordinates display as vertical bars (also with the Japanese language support). You have to remember (or try and err) the function of each button. The board moves and comments in the comment window work fine. The board looks a little bit nicer in Kifu for Java. If it would be possible to have the button texts as a graphic instead of Japanese text, the boards would be much nicer for a much larger audience.
