From: "T.Rogalski" ACCESS-4-FREE COM> Date: 8 jul 2003 Subject: Re: Habu at the World Open in Philadelphia I met Habu at the World Open, and we spoke briefly several times -- very friendly guy. He let me take photographs without any objection, and gave me his autograph. One memorable photograph was taken Thu03July'03 where he was black playing Qg1-h2+, a piece down driving the white king out into the open, winning a very shogi-like position. Another was taken after 25...Bc4 in his drawn game with Benjamin, the tournament's highest rated player. Joel 'thanked' me for taking the photograph on his time, not realizing that it was Habu's photograph that I really wanted. Habu's board was surrounded by mostly Japanese players who recognized him as being the strongest shogi player of all time.
