As usual my prophecies come true. 2 hours and 39 minutes. OK, my prophecy in this case was three hours. Anyway, Mr. Tashiro had to go back to Hamburg, so he insisted on leaving on Sunday morning. He was a nice and strong Japanese amateur, who was most probably the strongest shogi player present at the event. Some of the European shogi players learnt a lot from him. > Why is he listed as 2400 when 4 Dan is 2160? What can you tell us about him? An estimation from his www.shogidojo.com ELO rating was made, using the Kaufman formula. Mr Tashiro said that he had 4-dan, but obviously he was even stronger. Can someone else explain the rating estimation exactly? Best regards, Martin
