From: bogin YAHOO CO JP> Date: 10 apr 2003 Subject: Re: 4th International Austrian Shogi Championship Congratulations on a fine tournament. The level of play must have been quite high for a 2k to beat a very strong 5d. Even in a handicap game that result would have been quite surprising but in an even game it is even more remarkable. What's more this was an OTB tournament, not Interent or Email, so there can be no doubt about the result. It just goes to show that on any given day anything is possible. I have just one question. This was the tournament was called the Austrian Championship, and there appears to have been a clear winner, $B#M#M (Br. Schnider, with 5 out of 6. So, why is it necessary to have a playoff for title of Austrian Champion? Bill Gaudry --- Thomas Pfaffel HOTMAIL COM> $B$+$i$N%a%C%;!<%8!'
