Thanks for the extra info. I found the HP for the "Grand Champion"

It appears to have been a 5 round swiss tournament between sponsored by the
Japanese Amateur Association that brought together all of the major amateur
title holders (10 people) and was held last July.

Mr. Shimizugami( University Student Meijin) won that tournament with a 4-1
score though it appears to have been quite close since fifth place (then
Amateur Meijin Mr.Nagaoka) ended up with only one win less at 3-2. So, it
was quite a strong tournament.

Also, on the same HP are some pictures of Habu Ryu-O playing chess at the
Chicago Open.

Actually the entire HP is that of the Saitima Prefecture Shogi Association
and appears quite interesting. It is in Japanese but perhaps some
translating software can help those without a Japanese OS.
