For that sole purpose, of entering and reading games, the shogi database was
created.
You can find it at the following web-site:  http://www.ibridge.be/shogi/.
The applet and database are available for downloading if you're not on-line
all the time.
To start the applet, click on "database", shown on the left.

After loading, press F5 to show the decode/encode window.
Copy the western kifu in the text-field in the middle.
For example: copy the text between the ---- lines:

In the decode menu, select "Start decoding".
You will be destroying the game you entered so far. That's why a warning is
being given.

Incidently, you can also decode Reijer Grimbergens invaluable games (with
comments) from Shukan Shogi.
Do this by selecting the correct decoding type in the Decode window.

P7f P3d ) to japanese, and then play it on a board using java or something.
i like to give some comments on the good games from the esc, but i am so
lazy to see kifu and play it manually on a real board.
