Thanks for the compliment. But, I'm just a 2dan working my way up through the system. Hopefully, someday I make up to the 4dan level. > > > Have you ever thought in entering the Jun-I Sen ladder on Shogi 24? > I'm > > sure you'd do quite well. > > > Since the explanation is in Japanese, I don't know anything > about how > that works. > It's similar to the Pro system. The players are divided into various sections of different strength levels. There can be up to 25 people in each section. You're assigned a ladder position within the section and you play everyone everyone once. All the players have played over 100 games so there's no possibility for sandbagging. The time limit is 15 min 60 secs. If you keep winning you'll keep advancing up through the classes. The players in the top class battle it out for the right to challenge the club Meijin. Unfortunately, it appears that this terms tournament has already started so the registration is closed. Perhaps by the next tournament somebody at Shogi 24 can write up an English version of the rules so that non-Japanese speakers can also participate. > > What's your handle name? I'd be interested in knowing who's out there as well. Thanks again. Bill Gaudry __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Yahoo!
