From: Yoshi Niwata SEA UCATV NE JP> Date: 23 oct 2002 Subject: Re: Handicap games on Tokyo Dojo Dear Gary, It is OK to challenge Dan people for a handicapped match as long as they are in Free room. (They will refuse if they do not like to play handicapped match.) Concerning the pause before the first move, possibly, he accepted to play with you casually without checking you challenged the handicapped match! Then he needed some time to start. Even for dan people, some people are not familiar with handicapped match very much. For your information, there is a club for handicapped match on Tokyo dojo. Dan people of that club normally wait in 11-kyu room to be challenged by the club member (you need to access by "official guest" as 12-kyu to challenge for a handicapped match. (difficult to explain...) This club is called "Koma-ochi village". They are very kind and teach very well after the match. Someday, please catch me at Tokyo dojo. I will take you to the club!!
