Nothing extraordinary as you tend to push the edge pawns anyway sooner or later. It's a non-committing move as is 1.P-7f (opening a diagonal for the Bishop that has to be opened anyway whether you are playing a Static or Ranging Rook). 1.P-2f is a bit of a giveaway as it more or less commits you to playing a Static Rook opening. On the other hand, these aren't bad either. But maybe you yourself want to decide a few moves later what you are going to play. Edi
