I will give you one good reason to my point of view : my proxy/firewall
doesn't allow the java applet of shogi dojo to work properly... :-(
Perhaps other people are in the same case than me.

      Why would any non-Japanese speaking shogi player bother with Yahoo,
when ShogiDojo is free, has hundreds of players (sometimes thousands) all
the time, a rating system, and has everything important translated to
English?  Am I missing some advantage of Yahoo, or are you just unaware of
ShogiDojo (also known as Shogi Club 24)?
