It's certainly good to hear nothing but good things from you too.
Certainly, I felt the same way you do about the 4FR, but my recent
experiences at shogi-dojo24 have changed my views.
It's really annoying to get all geared up for a good game only to get
squashed in the opening with a joseki you didn't even see coming.  It kind
of ruins the fun ;-)

Yes, I play the 4-File Rook since I started shogi. But it is not because of
the
opening. I just like the midlle and endgame positions wich results from this
opening. Usually I am not better at the start.
