I'm really sure Boris is wrong, but I don't think I would be able to prove
it in a game ;-)
Remember the Nakabisha games I used to beat you with? I certainly remember
the joseki Boris played when he crushed me several times with the
counter-fourth file rook variations!
By the way, I thought I finaly had that opening covered, when some kind
people at shogi-dojo24 showed me otherwise... in a very brutal way, I might
add.

P.S.
Hannover at the end of the month will be extremely difficult. I'll look into
it though.  I checked at Lufthansa and they seem to have flights available
to Hannover in the morning and back the next evening.
BTW2, I'm trying to get into shape for the Nijmegen tournament, so perhaps
I'll WILL be able to play a tournament this year.
If Nijmegen doesn't work out, I might join Fréd & Eric in Paris a bit
earlier.

Boris is right. He gets a bad position from the opening in virtually every
game against me and manages to turn he tables in the middle game. He just
knows this type of position.

Matt, why don't you get into shape at the german open in Hannover. It would
be nice to have you around again.
