A female championship has been held in France 12 years ago, with only 6
participants,

In the 80s, two schools had active shogi clubs : the Abbey School,
Faversham, and the Boughton Primary School. Both in Kent,
Great-Britain. Tournaments reports were written in some George Hodges'
Shogi magazines. Steve Campbell wrote about tournaments in Faversham
with many children.

The british under 18 championships has been organized for years. But I
don't know if it still exists.
