From: Eric Cheymol FREE FR> Date: 15 may 2002 Subject: Habu's magical tour in Paris Habu's magic is on the board again. Round 2 ------- Yesterday, this magic was a good help to save a very difficult game. When I saw the board after the 43 rd black move, I really thought Habu would have to resign after a couple of moves. In his comments, Joël Lautier wrote Habu's game was lost several times. But his opponent didn't find the best moves and missed a tactical combination. After a good endgame technique, the players agreed a draw. It should be interesting to know the time left for each player during the game. Round 3 ------- With the white pieces, Habu seems to be unstoppable. Of course, this adjective is a bit too strong, but Habu signs today his second wins in a row with the white pieces. Thanks to Jacques Pineau for the practice in his Asaka chess club, should think Habu today :-)) And this time, it was against a very strong french IM : Cyril Marcelin, who was at 2 out of 2 before this game, after winning agains Mark Taimanov in the first round. This game is the second game of the day for Habu : so let's read Joël Lautier's comments in french at the following page http://213.215.41.166/actu/ronde3.htm Some comments in french are on my page with all Habu's games in pgn format. tomorrow -------- Habu will play with the black pieces against Sebastien Midoux, a 2288 player with only 0,5 player at his stage. After this third round, Habu only needs a +1 score out of the 6 remaining games for getting a second IM norm. Habu got a first IM norm in the april 2001 Saint Quentin En Yvelines Open, in the suburb of Paris. The fourth game can be followed in live on the http://www.nao-cc.com/ page from 14h00 Paris time. If you are in Paris, you can see Habu playing at the Nao Chess Club (47 boulevard Lannes), Metro Rue de la Pompe. All games of the tournaments can be replayed in your web browser at http://www.nao-cc.com/naocc/naofide/pres.htm or in pgn format on the same page.
