From: Reijer Grimbergen FU IS SAGA-U AC JP> Date: 4 jul 2002 Subject: SPEAR Hi all, I received some mails about problems when running SPEAR on hardware without a lot of memory (this also may be the cause of the problem Ito-san mentioned earlier). The current version of SPEAR needs at least 128 MB to make full use of the tsume shogi solver. However, for normal use this is not so important, so I made a version that uses much less memory. It seems that this version will run on PCs with at least 32 MB of RAM (no tests available for smaller systems yet). This version can be downloaded here (bottom of the page): http://www.fu.is.saga-u.ac.jp/~grimberg/SHOGI/SPEAR/spearmain.html I would appreciate any feedback on running this version on PCs with less than 32 MB.
