Our club was found in October of 1996 by couple of students of mathemat= ics from Charles University in Prague. For three and half years the club operate= d on a steamboat (paluba means =93deck=94 in Czech). In 1998 we moved to a very nice reasonably-priced space which is sited = very close to centre of Prague, but there were no facilities such as toilets= , heating etc.. Finally this year one week before Christmas, we finished reconstruction= , which spread over two years, while the club was in operation. We finished it = with the generous sponsorship of the town-council which we received in summer. But then came disaster... On Christmas our club was burgled. We lost nearly all our equipment- ga= mes, chess clocks, computer... Total loss is about USD 2.500 and it represents one year of income at P= aluba. For Paluba it means, together with some debt from reconstruction (about= USD 500), a serious (but not critical) problem. Paluba has about 500 of occ= asional visitors per year, but only about 30 regular members (players of shogi,= go, scrabble, othello, backgammon and zatre) and they are not able to help = us at the moment- most of them already contributed on reconstruction and are = studying on university or are pensioners, so their yearly income is under 1.800 = $. And this is reason why I annoy you with this e-mail. We will be very gr= ateful for any help you give us. Here are a few ideas: Send us an unneeded old chess clock. We can pay small sum (+ shipping a= nd customs) for it; and, of course, we will be very glad if you offer us = any older equipment. Write us about some foundation to apply for a sponsorship. Send us any amount of money to our account. We are preparing an article about this accident, which will be finished= in one week. Please translate it and publish in shogi related magazines. Thank you very much. Your gratefully Vojt=ECch Hrabal # of account, address... will be here later on. ______________________________________________________________________ Nejenom anglicko-cesky slovnik: http://slovnik.seznam.cz --MessagePart:10100968471656957797 Content-Type: text/richtext;name="=?iso-8859-2?Q?e=2Dmail=2Ertf?=";boundary="MessagePart:10100968471756461969" Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit {\rtf1\ansi \deff4\deflang1033{\fonttbl{\f4\froman\fcharset238\fprq2 Times New Roman CE;}{\f27\froman\fcharset0\fprq2 Book Antiqua;}{\f28\froman\fcharset238\fprq2 Book Antiqua CE;}}{\colortbl;\red0\green0\blue0; \red0\green0\blue255;\red0\green255\blue255;\red0\green255\blue0;\red255\green0\blue255;\red255\green0\blue0;\red255\green255\blue0;\red255\green255\blue255;\red0\green0\blue128;\red0\green128\blue128;\red0\green128\blue0;\red128\green0\blue128; \red128\green0\blue0;\red128\green128\blue0;\red128\green128\blue128;\red192\green192\blue192;}{\stylesheet{\widctlpar \f4\fs20\lang1029 \snext0 Normal;}{\*\cs10 \additive Default Paragraph Font;}}{\info{\title Dear friends,} {\author Ing.
