From: Yoshi Niwata SEA UCATV NE JP> Date: 27 dec 2002 Subject: Re: International Shogi Club Dear Sylvain, Thank you very much for your kind feedback! Starting point to organize this club was TOKYO Shogi Forum held in November and we enjoyed shogi so much with many other country players. However, this kind of event is held only once three years and we thought that we wanted to "enjoy" shogi internationally more in our daily life. That's the simple reason to start and our choice was to use an internet shogi club (shogi DOJO) which had many good points !! free to play, no travel, easy to gather etc. Concerning teaching & learning support in our club, we realize there is a need to support especially starters/beginners who are struggling at 10-15kyu in shogi club 24 or intermediate players who want to improve more. One French guy asked our member to instruct shogi through e-mail shogi ! Most of them have various kinds of difficulties to learn shogi (time limitation, long distance, less shogi friends in neighbor etc.) and we hope our support could give some help for their shogi enjoyment. Obviously, it is a good fun for us, too to play shogi with them. Therefore, Enjoy & Support are appropriate key words to explain our club and we think it is proven through a friendly match with Russia, a monthly game and instruction games which were conducted in last two months. Of course our site is prepared by English and Kanso-sen (review the game) is done by English to communicate with you internationally. We do hope we can play with you on the net in near future.
