One more thought.

Also, Mr. Fernandez and Mr. Cheymol are also have very high ratings. They
may not have had as much success recently as Mr. Mirnik and Mr. Schnider
but that doesn't seem to be a good enough reason to exclude them from such
a competition. Wouldn't it be fair to at least give them the opportunity to
compete as well? That would give you 7 players that would qualify by
rating. You could then reserve 1 other spot for an either an at large
qualifier or the FESA Grand Prix points Champion. If any of the original 7
were unable to participate then FESA could decide on replacements as
needed. That seems a little fairer to me.
