From: Sam Sloan ISHIPRESS COM> Date: 26 apr 2002 Subject: Re: 12th World Computer Shogi Championship (participant-list, revised) I had a shogi playing computer program which I wrote in 1984. It was not strong by persent standards, only about 7 kyu in strength, but was about as good as any program at that time. I called it Shogi Gaijin. I lost my copy of the program when my hard disk went bad. Does anybody have any idea of another copy anywhere? I gave one to Henk Rogers, who had a computer software company near Yokohama. He was working on a computer game at the time called Black Onyx. He later became famous for his computer games and I believe that Tetrus was one of his games. His father was Jerry Rogers, a famous go player who died several years ago. In spite of Henk Rogers being famous and being a young man with a Japanese wife, I have not been able to locate him. I gave another copy of my computer shogi program to a computer software development company in Yoyogi, Tokyo, but I forget their name. There were a few other copies of my program floating around. If anybody comes across one, please let me know.
