From: Jochum Drechsler WEB DE> Date: 17 apr 2002 Subject: German Championship Play off / Changes to the Pullach-Turnament --------------FE75DE95832F46A2794DC170 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Dear Shogi-Players, last weekend the play off for the German Championship took place in Berlin. We played at a very relaxed atmosphere in the Mori-Ogai-Center. Some Berlin Shogi players came to watch the fight for the tickets to Japan. I would like to thank the Berlin shogi players for their organisation. The winner of the play off and therefor newe (and old) German Champion is Boris Mirnik. He has been German Champion for the whole time we have the German Championships. But Karl Wartlick and Stephan Maas are some promising players that will make it harder for Boris in the future. Karl became second and qualified for the Shogi Forum as best Kyu player. The third player for the team is Jochen Drechsler as best Dan player. Here are the complete results: Pl. Name Str 1 2 3 4 5 Pt 1 Mirnik, Boris 3d 5+ free 4+ 2+ 3+ 5 2 Wartlick, Karl 3k free 3+ 5+ 1- 4+ 4 3 Maas, Stephan 1k 4+ 2- free 5+ 1- 3 4 Drechsler, Jochen 2d 3- 5+ 1- free 2- 2 5 Hoffmann, Wolfgang 3k 1- 4- 2- 3- free 1 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ I would like to inform you of a change for the Pullach/Munich tournament: There will be no blitz-tournament on Friday. We will play simultanious handicap games against the pros! The number of players for the tournament has risen to 25 up to now. The latest list of participants can be found on our internet site. All the best, Jochen Drechsler. --------------FE75DE95832F46A2794DC170 Content-Type: text/html; charset=us-ascii Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Dear Shogi-Players,
