From: Ralf Lundberg CS CHALMERS SE> Date: 21 sep 2001 Subject: Shogi on Palm! No, I do not have a program that plays shogi on Palm. Sorry:-( What I do have is a program that acts as a Shogi board on Palm OS devices. And at least for me that is quite useful to. I plan to use it in the following cases: * To keep the state of email, and interrupted, games. * To follow the moves in shogi books between the diagrams. * To walk through pro games etc. * As a tool to write kifu while playing standard games. * And of course to play on when no real board is available. Beside the game view, there is also a database view where you can handle games you have entered. The main advantages over a traditional pocketable shogi board is: * You can keep multiple games in parallell * You can easily scroll back and forth among the moves entered * You can save and print the kifus Read more about Shogi Board, as I call it, and see two screenshots: http://www.cd.chalmers.se/~ralf/palm/shogib.html The program is available for download. To make it a little more interesting I have also included an initial database with a few of the most recent pro games Reijer Grimbergen has submitted in Shukan Shogi. (Thanks Reijer! Also thanks for making Spear available!) Enjoy! Ralf. (The program is written in Pocket-C, a native(!) C compiler for PalmOS.) -- ___________________________________________________________________ Ralf Lundberg http://www.cd.chalmers.se/~ralf/index.html ralf crt se (email home: cs chalmers se)
