Sekita can be bought now over the internet - I'd call that a major update since when I wanted to buy it a year ago I simply didn't get any response. > Or have any details about the Shogi Professional by Oxford - how well it > plays, what features it has, how many levels, etc? The site has rather > sketchy info. Five levels, handicap play, tournament mode. Nice interface, network play, more or less all you would expect. Lousy at handicap joseki, though. How well it plays? It plays more or less at my level (slightly better is probably nearer the mark) and I'm 1-kyu (ELO 1551) so I'd grade it ad-hoc amateur 1-kyu or 1-dan (roughly). I'm still using it and find it very nice. Oxford Softworks ship extremely fast (after a few hours I had the program to unpack it; the program can be download from their site). Hope this helps Edi
