I really have the same feeling with Ito san about the International Notation. I also could have managed to read it but don't dare to use it by myself unless my opponent understand what I write in English such as 77Kaku etc. In this case, I bend my fingers and find out 7 is G and inform him B-7G, which will have a little time lag. (ioi) Of course, Bishop77 (B77) is much faster for me (might be for every Japanese players). > That, in turn, makes me think that we should all follow Renmei's notation > as much as possible. I believe this is quite right and Horiguchi Koji Pro(6D) uses the B77 way in his English Shogi Lesson on Shogi Sekai Magazine for more than three years. It is no value to be against with Renmei's order as "Japanese" shogi players. However, if the writing/calling method is different with shogi notation between Europe/USA and Japan now and in future, we still can play Shogi together under the same rule. No problem! Dick
