I think Mr. Danerud has a good point here. But as it is always stressed that nobody is forced to agree to a handicap, I think the problem will be solved automatically: at least I will never agree to give a handicap or ask for one myself. But I will challenge strong players because I want to learn from them and losing against a strong player and analyzing the game afterwards is the best way to gain strength. If this means that I get down on the ladder... so what, that's life! :) Yours, Bernhard
