From: Reijer Grimbergen ETL GO JP> Date: 31 jan 2001 Subject: Osho match game 3 So far the Osho match is a perfect start to the new year. Habu and Tanigawa both go all out and play some very exciting shogi. Game 3 again was a very close fight that started already quite early with Habu playing the Fujii system. I followed the game on the Internet (http://www.sponichi.co.jp/leisure/o_syo/2001/kifu/03.html) and had no idea who would win until the very end. In the end Habu's king was chased from the right to the left of the board, but Tanigawa could not find a way to mate it. Habu ran out of the checks and then had enough material to mate himself. Habu again takes the lead in the match, but we still have a lot of excitement to look forward to.
